The UF Diabetes Institute is internationally recognized as a leader in efforts to predict, prevent, and cure type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The 2012-13 U.S. News Best Children’s Hospital Rankings placed the UF Diabetes Institute – Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology division in the Top 15 in the country. In addition, our Pediatric Diabetes Education program was the first pediatric-specific program in the state of Florida to receive the coveted Education Program Recognition certification from the ADA.
Patient Care
According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), there are approximately 26 million Americans now living with diabetes. In adults, type 2 diabetes accounts for 90 percent of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. These numbers only continue to grow. At the University of Florida Diabetes Institute, finding a cure for this disease is our top priority.
