General Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of common and complex health concerns that afflict adult patients.
Doctors of internal medicine treat the whole body of the patient and are often called upon to manage multiple medical conditions simultaneously. UF Health internists partner with subspecialist physicians to solve uncommon, rare or particularly severe medical problems and to develop individual risk profiles for possible future illness.
UF internists provide a lifetime of care
In today’s complex medical environment, UF internists take pride in caring for patients for life – during office visits, as well as complex hospitalizations. When other medical specialists are involved, UF internists coordinate and help prioritize and manage difficult medical problems.
