Transplant Services


UF Health Shands Transplant Center at the University of Florida performs more than 250 transplants a year, with more than 7,000 organ transplants total since the first program began in 1966. 

The center performs transplants of the heart, lung, kidney and liver.  Patients include adults, children, and multiple organ transplant recipients. With a history of great experience and excellent patient outcomes, the UF Health Shands Transplant Center is uniquely qualified to accept higher-risk candidates. Multiple specialty programs at UF Health are ranked by the annual U.S. News & World Report in their "America's Best Hospitals" listings each year.
