2004 Equal Access Clinic Volunteer Appreciation Reception
The College of Medicine’s Equal Access Clinic was one of the nation’s first student-run medical clinics, launched in 1992 after several years of developmental efforts led by Helga Rippen, a member of the college’s class of 1993. Today, the clinic provides free medical services to thousands of indigent Alachua County residents each year, through the efforts of UF medical students and faculty, as well as members of the community and pre-med students in the American Medical Student Association. On April 13, the clinic held its first-ever awards event, to recognize some of the many volunteers who have contributed to the clinic’s success.
