Biography

Kristen Freeman, MD is an assistant professor with the division of cardiovascular surgery at the University of Florida.

She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minor in Economics. Freeman went on to pursue her education at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, School of Medicine where she received her doctorate of medicine.

Additionally, Freeman completed a cardiothoracic surgery research fellowship at the University of Colorado. Her residency was done at the University of Colorado Denver. Freeman completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship from the University of Florida, department of surgery, division of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery.

Freeman is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Freeman has received multiple honors and awards throughout her profession career relating to her fellowship, residency, medical school and undergraduate career. Additionally, Freeman has been affiliated with numerous professional memberships including the American College of Surgeons.

Throughout her career, Freeman has been involved in multiple professional activities, and research publications.
