Multidisciplinary Care

As part of one of the nation’s top 20 research universities, the UF Health Urologic Cancer Center brings together numerous clinicians and researchers from many fields of medicine, all dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers. Our nationally recognized, multidisciplinary team of specialists includes physicians from urology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology and pathology who meet weekly to carefully review patient information and develop the most comprehensive treatment plan personalized for each individual.

The multidisciplinary treatment team also includes nurses, researchers, radiologists, pharmacists, social workers and other support staff with extensive experience in many areas of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers. Additionally, UF Health physicians actively participate in clinical trials to advance the field of cancer care.

Urologic Oncology

UF Health surgeons on the UF Health urologic cancer team are fellowship trained in urologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery and provide the latest surgical technology and treatment options for you. In addition to traditional open surgical approaches, UF Health surgeons also offer laparoscopic, robotic-assisted and image-guided procedures.

Radiation Oncology

UF Health radiation oncologists provide a comprehensive array of radiotherapy options, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy, intraoperative radiation therapy (Intrabeam), interstitial brachytherapy (radioactive seeds) and proton beam therapy.

Medical Oncology

UF Health medical oncologists provide the latest in chemotherapeutics and novel targeted agents that may be used alone or in combination with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation therapy.
