My name is Tony S. Wen, MD, and I am the chief of the University of Florida Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. I earned my medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock. I then completed my residency in obstetrics and gynecology and my fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at University of Texas – Houston School of Medicine. I had served in academic institutions since 1994 at: Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Prior to joining UF Health, I served as chief of the division of maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
My areas of research focus include perinatal ultrasound, clinical perinatology, preeclampsia and diabetes, infectious diseases and medical education.
As a physician in a teaching hospital, my goal is to train the next generation of OB-GYN physicians, provide research and new knowledge to a mountain of medical foundation to improve women’s health, and provide comprehensive obstetric care to patients, including those in rural areas where there are health disparities.
In my free time, I enjoy walking our dogs, weightlifting and running with my wife. We also enjoy traveling to visit with our adult children and hiking at various national parks.
