Sometimes, a patient's injuries or condition are too severe for standard medicinal or rehabilitative treatment. When this happens, the patient may require surgery. Transplant surgery involves the removal of diseased or damaged organs or bodily structures and the replacement with healthy donor organs and structures.
Surgery may require the patient to stay in the hospital from one to several days or longer. The goal for all UF Health surgeries is to provide a safe and comfortable experience while undergoing a surgery.
