UF Health Pediatric Orthopaedics, an Alliance with Shriners Children's, boasts the region's most complete scope of practices for pediatric orthopaedics. Our fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeons care about your child's growing body, providing outstanding care for children and teens with a variety of musculoskeletal issues.
The unique alliance between UF Health and Shriners Hospitals for Children has a meaningful impact on children with musculoskeletal problems. Shriners Hospitals for Children created the Shriners professorship in pediatric orthopaedics, the Shriners fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics and funding for improvements at the pediatric orthopaedic practice to help enhance the patient experience. The commitment will provide ongoing support for research, faculty and staff development, program enhancements and continuing education related to the care of pediatric orthopaedic patients at both UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and the UF Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute.
A patient-centered facility
Our pediatric orthopaedic specialists are trained to help children with conditions that affect their bones, joints and spine. Since children's bones have yet to fully develop, our approach centers on remedying the affected area but also keeping the child on track for healthy growth.
This state-of-the-art-facility was designed with the patient in mind. Renovations focused on the layout and flow of the space, and special attention was paid to improving the visual experience for young patients. Whimsical, colorful art throughout the patient areas encourages movement and imagination — both important for a healing environment.
This child-friendly facility features leading-edge imaging and technology providing a full scope of orthopaedic evaluations, treatments and rehabilitation including EOS low-dose imaging, all located on the fourth floor of the UF Health Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Institute (OSMI).
