The Spine Center and pain medicine practice are both located at 311 N. Clyde Morris Blvd. in Daytona Beach. Bender earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine, where he was class valedictorian and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Health and a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at the University of Florida.

Prior to his medical training, Bender received a doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he was ranked in the top 5% of his class. He ran a successful private practice in south Florida for several years but maintained a strong interest in furthering his education, which led him to apply to medical school. He has always had a passion for learning but he wanted to combine the best aspects of both chiropractic and modern medicine in order to offer his patients the most complete and comprehensive level of care possible.

Bender has written 19 articles and a book chapter related to his field. The majority of his research has involved the treatment of musculoskeletal and spine-related disorders. He continues to have a strong interest in research as he begins his practice at Halifax Health. Bender also has a passion for community service and has been on several medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Fiji.

The UF Health Pain Medicine – Halifax Health practice adds to a close relationship between the two health systems. They already collaborate on heart and vascular surgery, pediatric care, neurosurgery and kidney transplantation and operate Halifax Health | UF Health Medical Center of Deltona.
