Anusavice elected vice president of AADR

Kenneth Anusavice, D.M.D., Ph.D., a University of Florida College of Dentistry professor and chair of dental biomaterials, has been elected vice president of the American Association for Dental Research.

Anusavice, who also is associate dean of research at the college, has been active in the organization for more than 20 years. His duties during his four-year term as vice president will include organizing the group’s meeting in 2003.

The AADR is the largest division of the International Association for Dental Research. The non-profit organization has more than 6,000 individual members and 100 institutional members within the United States.

The AADR’s mission includes advancing research and increasing knowledge for the improvement of oral health; supporting and representing the oral health research community; and facilitating the communication and application of research findings.

Anusavice is a graduate faculty member in materials science and engineering. He is actively involved in national and international dental organizations, including being a member of the American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs.
