Marcela Avila, V, M.D.
Marcela V. Avila, M.D., graduated from medical school at Universidad Nacional de Tucuman in Tucuman, Argentina, before completing a residency in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the Angel C. Padilla Hospital in Tucuman, Argentina. In 2012, Avila went on to complete a second residency in family medicine at Bella Vista Hospital in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where she previously worked as a medical intern.
Dr. Avila joined the University of Florida in 2015 to complete a one-year geriatric fellowship through the department of Aging and Geriatric Research, under the direction of John Mueleman, MD. She currently practices as a geriatrician at UF Health Senior Care and Oak Hammock.
Dr. Avila is board certified from the American Board of Family Medicine and was named the Most Accomplished Resident in 2001 from Angel C. Padilla Hospital.
