About me
My name is Manuel A. Amaris, MD, and I am an associate professor and the motility program director in the University of Florida Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. Prior to arriving at UF, I was a regional expert in GI mortality and functional disorders at Southern Illinois University.
I received my medical degree from the Universidad del Rosario School of Medicine in Colombia, my birth country, followed by completing three research fellowships in GI Motility at the University of Alberta in Canada. I completed my internal medicine residency at Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Rush Medical College in Chicago and an NIH sponsored fellowship in gastroenterology with a emphasize in GI Motility at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
