Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a term that refers to two inflammatory conditions, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Approximately 1.6 million Americans suffer from IBD, most likely to be seen in patients between the ages of 15 and 30.

  • Crohn’s disease is a digestive disorder that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the anus.
  • Ulcerative colitis is a digestive disorder that can affect any part of the large intestine.
