How extended primary care hours can keep your child out of the E.R.

When your child comes home sick from school or daycare, or develops a fever at 5 p.m., where do you turn?

For many parents, this dilemma has two options: an evening trip to the pediatric E.R. or a worry-filled night waiting for a morning appointment. For working parents, getting time off to take a child to the pediatrician, even for a well-child visit, can be challenging. We want you to worry less. UF Health Pediatrics at Tower Square now offers extended weekday hours until 7 p.m.

No More Missed School or Work

We understand that sometimes it’s difficult to schedule a pediatrician visit during work hours—or to find same-day visits when your child comes home sick. Instead waiting it out until the next morning, simply call our office, and we can provide appointments until 7 p.m.

Kids today are often involved in extracurricular activities in the afternoon that may make doctor visits — even well-care visits — difficult during the week. We have you covered there, too. We offer well-child appointments for all ages after 5 p.m.

Worry Less

Caring for a sick child can be one of the most stressful aspects of parenthood, especially for working parents. With extended after-hours care, working parents can schedule checkups after business hours, and enjoy many benefits, including:

  • Having your child seen during extended hours when they come home sick from school.
  • Relying on your pediatrician instead of making a late-night trip to the E.R.
  • Enjoying a restful night instead of worrying about the time you’ll spend the next day making your child an appointment and taking him or her to the appointment.

Children who are seen during extended hours can be treated quickly and will be on their way to feeling better, faster.

The physicians and staff at UF Health Pediatrics want you and your family to have a healthy and stress-free year. Extended hour appointment times are available Monday through Friday until 7 p.m. We’re here late for you!
